Live the Questions Now

Have patience
with everything unresolved in your heart
and try to love the questions themselves,
as if they were locked rooms
or books written
in a very foreign language . . .

All changes,
even the most longed for,
have their melancholy . . .

for what we leave behind us
is a part of ourselves;
we must die to one life
before we can enter another.

~ Anatole France ~

The important thing is this:
to be able at any moment
to sacrifice what we are
for what we could become.

~ Charles DuBois ~

And the day came
when the risk to remain tight in a bud
was more painful than the risk
it took to blossom.

~ Anais Nin ~

Twenty years from now,
you will be more disappointed
by the things you didn’t do
than by the ones you did.

~ Mark Twain ~

. . . Don't search for the answers,
which could not be given to you now,
because you would not
be able to live them.
And the point is, to live everything.
Live the questions now.

~ Rainer Maria Rilke ~

  1. Thanks for these quotes Invictus. I love to have a meditative thought to start my day. On top of that, I see a poet I need to learn more about: Rilke. What he says resonates with me

-live your way into the answer-

The requisite for this is patience, trust in yourself, Life and Others (thus love and acceptance, therefore absence of fear) ... It requires embracing which one cannot do if one's hands are busy gripping on to fear.

The interaction between the self, Life, Love and Others is the answer: which in turns gives a new birth into new answers and tomorrows.

    Merci!

  2. These quotes are very timely, especially given the past year of my life. Thank you, Invictus, for being a source of strength and compassion. I have learned, and continue to learn, a great deal from you.

    Love and respect, always.
